How useful are the petitions on the White House website? [View all]

Probably not that useful.

But I'm naive, and I like to think that exercising your voice in politics paves the way for real action. So here is a petition for the current administration and Congress to take a serious look at how much influence lobby groups have in Washington: http://wh.gov/U3ed

I don't know how to get through to the politicians, honestly. It's too disheartening to think that the only way to have any influence in this country is to have inordinate amounts of money.
