and in that speech, used a phrase that now describes the forces that would eventually elevate Trump to this level of popular support...he called it "the darker impulses of the American spirit". Bobby got all kinds of shit for saying that, but he was right, forty-eight years ago, and he remains right.
Trump represents the dungeon of the national soul.
