It occurred to me this morning that it might be for the best if we cancel the debates.

See, Obama is not making Romney look bad. Obama is not really making himself look any better. Romney is making Romney look bad.

Under those circumstances, the debates are Romney's last, best chance to make himself look better. He can't be trusted off-script but for the debate his remarks will be scripted and rehearsed. He will be coached not to be himself. He might improve his image and energize his base.

...unless of course he offers Obama a $10,000 bet...

but he'd never do that in a DEBATE?
