Somehow I find that saying something sincere and kind to a fellow-griever helps me deal with my own grief just a little bit better, even though (or maybe partially because) we're strangers to each other.

I'm a loner, even a hermit, and had you told me this 20 years ago, I wouldn't have believed you.
