(99,719 posts)When I was sixteen I was smoking eight to ten joints every single day. I remember skipping school with my friends, getting caught, and being suspended for three days. The assistant principal said " You have a life ahead of you. why are you wasting it with those other two hoodlums*?"
I would hate to be judged by how I carried myself at sixteen years old...
After that she became a Chuck Percy/Nelson Rockefeller Republican. Anybody even remotely familiar with civil rights history knows that many northern Republicans were the good guys of that era.
She also was a Democrat by the time she could vote in 1968, going "Clean For Gene" McCarthy... I would have been for Bobby because he was more accessible to me, kind of the difference between Hillary and Bernie, not that I think Bernie is a bad guy.
*don't remember if hoodlum was the word he used it but it was a pejorative.
