call yourself a journalist. Are there exams, licenses, or even agreed to standards? Hardly.

Over history in the US anyone can be a journalist at any time. Yes public agencies issue media or press credentials, but that is based on organization, not the person.

The epitome of the "professional journalist" are those like Pegler. He even won a Pulitzer Prize
