ESCONDIDO (CNS) - An investigation was under way in Escondido Wednesday after a man driving a van was shot in the head, causing him to crash into a telephone pole.
The shooting in the 1100 block of East Mission Avenue occurred about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to Escondido police.
The van was headed east, possibly with a second occupant who fled while medics were tending to the wounded driver, police said in a statement.
Medics took the wounded man to an area hospital, where his condition early Wednesday was not released ...
