But seriously, folks. This is what keeps any compromise on gun laws from taking place in the United States. I'm an extremist; I find the current laws unacceptably strict. However, a lot of other gun owners would be willing to compromise, and even support certain stricter measures, if there weren't overwhelming evidence that any compromise would eventually lead to Canadian-style(or worse) restrictions. There is no convincing us that this isn't the ultimate goal of gun control, because it has happened in almost every single other nation in the world.
