As long as the Government has guns so should the people. [View all]

I was accused of being nuts for making this basic argument.

Why is that so hard to understand. We have a government of the people by the people for the people. There is nothing that gives the government the right to exempt itself from its own laws. The government is not above the rule of law and is not above the people. The people rule this government and if the government inacts laws then the government should be the first to obey these laws.

I believe all weapons of mass murder should be wiped off the face of the earth. But this will never happen as long as our governments are producing and purchasing these weapons.

Disarm everybody or disarm nobody. Allowing a government to have power over the people instead of people having power over the government is a short road to tyranny.
