I've been clean and sober for 12 years, but occasionally I have a drunk dream or one where I ponder the choice to drink or not.
Perhaps it has something to do with the times we're all living through, I don't know for sure. Several months ago I had a dream that I was at a social event and picked up a drink as other people were. I looked around to see if anyone was watching but no one was watching, so I took a long drink, and startled awake. My heart was pounding. I realized it was a bad dream but, it felt so real! I was grateful, for the opportunity to reflect on the gift that sobriety is for me.
