7. Too bad we can't cut our population fast enough to matter.

We won't cut our growth in population, production or consumption (especially of fossil fuels) voluntarily - it's not how we're built and/or programmed. Oh well. This is the true price of "progress". I hope we still feel it's been worth it in another 30 years.
