8. Metro a good school

I lived near downtown Denver and Metro State for 21 years and have lived in Boulder for 17 years. Colorado is a great place to live and study. Metro has a fine reputation and I have known many people who received their undergraduate and graduate degrees there and are doing well at their jobs, such as social workers. Good diversity and support for low income, minority, and international students. But I know little about athletics.
The school was set up for urban and commuting serious students, most of them living off campus and working at the same time. It does not have the "fun and party" rep of CU or the cost of Univ of Denver (which I think are good things) Also not the rep for outstanding programs in science etc and national grants as CU and CSU at Ft. Collins have and some good scholarships, but out of state tuition is high. Colorado College is an outstanding small private liberal arts college in Colorado Springs but very expensive.
Many Metro students probably don't have time or money for all the great things to do in CO like skiing, but there's no place like CO for enjoying the outdoors and good liberal instructors at the same time (except maybe CA)!
