(31,989 posts)You wrap your wire around a pencil. Using the pointed end of a pencil will make your wrap gradually decrease in size, if thats the effect you want, or you can keep it all the same width if you want. Then you insert your object and form a loop for the finding.
I have tried just wrapping wire around a found object (stone or beach glass) and had luck with the stone but not the glass. So I keep trying. You Tube has lots of tutorials on how to wire wrap. Its just something that takes a lot of practice! As far as wire, I went to a craft store and just bought wire that said it was good for wire wrapped jewelry... it was a long time ago and I dont have the card it came on anymore, sorry! Sometimes craft stores have free printed instructions you can take home, on display by the materials youre looking for, they give you lots of good ideas.
I bet those crystals you took from the chandelier were gorgeous! They would indeed make very pretty Christmas tree ornaments.
