(2,560 posts)I used to play competition chess and one night i was invited to play a game of Go against some guy who was giving a demonstration in the chess club. I did OK for quite a while (I got the maximum handicap) and then made a dumb move and got crushed. But the game fascinated me. The rules are so simple, but the complexity just washes you away. The trouble at that time was i didn't know anyone who had even heard of the game and you basically had to import the board and stones from Japan - I'm talking about Australia early 1970s here. Now you can play online and I've ordered the stuff from a local store (Amsterdam). I've also downloaded a free beginner's Go program.
So, I'll start there and see how it goes.
I'd never heard of Five Stone, but i'll give it a look.
Thanks
