where I was a Joint Venturer in the Cave Research Foundation back in the 70s and 80s. We were exploring and mapping the long and complex Lilburn cave system. Park Rangers saw a couple of redwood pine cones in the Ford Bronco of my friend that I was bringing back as a souvenir and told me I couldn't take that out of the park, nor any other part of a redwood tree, even one that had fallen.
