3. Not really - esp. when green they are good on the kitchen counter for up to a week.

At the local farmers market they are piled up on counters and often are there for many days. When they go their ripe color (yellow, red, orange or brown), they are much more perishable.


Sorry to differ with your mom!

I've got about 50 bell pepper plants and always have peppers of various ripeness here and there - shelf, fridge, freezer...
