When a buried fence failed to keep the little bastards out, I sprayed everything down with a cayenne pepper/dish soap solution, reapplied after rain, and went looking for the den. When I found it, I prevailed upon a neighbor with a new baby to give me a few used Pampers, which I stuffed into the main entrance of the den. Yes, I went nuclear, I didn't care how cute they are.

They decamped to a new den. Since damage to neighbors' gardens decreased, I have to hope their new den was in an area with plentiful wild foods, the area abounded with things like bush blueberries.
