I was born in the Mountain Home AFB base hospital, even though my parents weren't military. Dad was in the Bureau of Public Roads, which built the roads to the base ammunition supply point. Because Mountain Home had no hospital to speak of in the 1960s, the Air Force agreed to provide all the medical care to the BPR families building the roads.
