23. I'm so sorry

She sounds like she was a wonderful girl. That is way too young to lose her. Our girl's name was Heidi. She was a real handful when we first got her. She was very dog reactive, she didn't like certain people, also very fearful. It took almost a year for her to warm up to my husband. She was returned to the rescue by the first person who adopted her because her vet told her she was a "bad dog." Although it wasn't easy, we stuck with her and she turned out to be the best, smartest, and most loyal companion. She mellowed out as she got older and never failed to get compliments on her looks and her good manners when we took her out on walks. It's very lonely without her but we do feel good knowing she had a very happy life with us.
