until you are wearing bifocals or trifocals.

I've been putting up with three different pairs of glasses for years. Distance, reading and computer. I actually need a different prescription for each one of those uses.

But I've hit the point where I'm squinting so much, and I'm so tired of having to change glasses so I can read something, that I'm ready to ask for bifocals.

I actually tried trifocals. Almost broke my neck falling up and down the stairs. Turns out my brain could not adjust to all of those different levels of vision in one pair of glasses.

Consider yourself lucky that you can get readers. I have an astigmatism in one eye, so readers won't work for me. I have to get prescription lenses.

The joys of getting old. Or as my cousin says, "it's not the golden years. It's the rusty years."
