(809 posts)36. I don't know a thing about air conditioners,
but when it is hot here, I keep the dogs wet. I take them to the tub and spray them with the hand-held, then dry them just a little so they are not dripping. My lab mix thinks this is just dandy, the little terrier mix is skeptical. I wet my hair and drape one of the damp towels over my shoulders and we all sit in front of the fan.
As a kid in the midwest, I remember using a wet towel instead of a blanket at night, with the fan blowing on me.
Thank you for sharing your story. It has inspired others to share, also. A culture that allows so many to suffer alone and in silence can not survive. People who are well off need to know how hard things really are.
