2. If you're not averse to buying Chinese check out Hobby King

They sell a low self discharge nickle metal hydride that's twice as good as the eneloop as far as capacity and cost. The cost is about half and they hold their charge about the same. I don't remember the capacity but I think it beats the eneloop. I use them for wireless keyboard, mouse, and radio control transmitters. They've served me well.
