2. Interesting discussion. But no, repuglyants have no reason to be "outraged"

No - the president SHOULD NOT negotiate with himself. Letting the tax cuts expire is ok in my book. The president (Geitner) presented a plan that American people generally support, time for the repuglycants to put up or shut up.

I think letting the tax cuts expire is their (the repuglycants) best option at this point. Then at least they can try to share the blame. If they start putting out plans that cut deeply into medicare, social security, food stamps and lower/middle class tax relief they are gonna piss off a lot more people. And the savings proposed by those cuts will be negligible compared to tax increases on income over $250k.

I also want to see a proposal for tax increases on interest income out of the white house. But maybe they should keep card back for now....
