8. I don't think people should go to jail for possession of drugs, either.

I support strong (even draconian) gun-control laws 100%. But loss of one's firearm through carelessness or negligence should be treated as a civil infraction, not a criminal one. If a lost gun is later used in a crime, I think a charge of some degree of negligence is appropriate, however.
