1. While Ivey won't be nominated for the Profiles in Courage Award for vetoing the bill, politically she would have been punished either way.

2. If Ivey had vetoed the bill, there were enough votes to override her veto. Same result.

3. Ideally, I would have liked her to veto the bill with some memorable words about American (not Alabamians') women's right to reproductive freedom. To be a hero at the expense of political survival.

4. She'll probably be primaried or voted out of office anyway now that she's served her purpose.
