Part of the blame rests with us for not making more of an issue with advertisers about their sponsorship of hate. Part of the blame also rests with us for not fighting the consolidation of radio ownership. We, the American people, were complacent while this cancer spread.

That said, Mr. Limbaugh and the powerful extremists who support him are far more to blame.
