The only controversy is Ben Affleck playing to the American audience by not giving the Canadians the full credit they deserve, not the history behind the main events.

Unless now it is "liberal" to suggest that our (D) First Lady awarding a meaningless prize to a rather good film, which happens to center around atrocious behavior by religious fundies in that time period is CIA/MIC propaganda.
