9. I was plenty worried, especially after Irene which killed my mother

So I wasn't taking any chances, but all we had here upstate was a lot of wind and some rain. I went out early, gave my friend a ride to the vet to pick up her kitty since we expected the worst, then went straight home and stayed there. I was supposed to be somewhere that night, turned out I was one of the few not to show up, but my friend was told not to show up for work and my housemate was sent home in the afternoon. Because Irene hit us so hard, we were prepared for the worst.
