My daughter has one. She never has to think about birth control, and it has the wonderful side effect of no more painful periods either. Best of all it's 99.9% effective, she basically can't get pregnant again until *she wants to* and goes to the doctor to have it removed.
The biggest obstacle with the Mirena is cost, but now with the ACA and mandated, no co-pay contraception coverage, this is going to get much more popular.
