donate to a food bank. I happen to think it would be pretty sad for Obama if nobody came to his historic second inauguration.
There is also nothing to keep "underthematrix" from doing both - attending AND donating.

If you want to pick on somebody for skewed priorities, why not go after the bloated Pentagon budget and all the people who support it?

A lot of us worked damn hard on this campaign, and there seems nothing wrong with a jubilant celebration.

Also many many working people in Washington benefit from all the business that massive crowds bring to the city for events like these. Jobs, remember? So there are fewer homeless and folks on food assistance.

Oh, and too bad you'll be missing the Inaugural. If the last one was any indication, it will be one for the Ages!
