39. We have 55 Senators

Nov 2012

Not to mention, Brown out of office is not the same as Brown as the incumbent. It may be that his loss may lower his appeal to many people. The other thing is that Brown may have a problem with the fact that if he ran and won, he again would be the most junior Senator there is. This would make it less likely that he would speak to heads of state, Kings and Queens and Obama and the Secretary of State. (Maybe he really wants to be like John Kerry, for whom all these things and being a chair of a powerful committee, is true.) In addition, Kerry's seat is up in 2014 so he would have to run again next time - and likely lose to the SAME argument that the balance of power (in 2014) would be at stake. Though it does seem like he wants to be Senator.

Brown seems to be both an egomaniac and to have a fragile self esteem. Why else would he make the types of things up that he does? It may be that he would want people to beg him to run and that he wants the status of being Senator.
