In reply to the discussion: Kinzinger: "We have to recognize" possibility of a civil war [View all]qazplm135
(7,447 posts)most civil wars involve regional geographic separation.
Our separation is urban rural to some extent. Yeah, the South is a thing, but then again you have Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, Charlotte, etc places with a large "blue" populations.
Even Texas has Austin, El Paso, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas as large blue populations.
How's a civil war work in that scenario?
And that map doesn't work.
Colorado and NM would be much more prone to join that blue bit than the green bit.
MI and WI are more prone to join Green than Orange. NC is on the edge might not want to join either. Same with Nevada.
Alaska would be as prone to do their own thing as Texas.
But ultimately I certainly think violence is pretty much guaranteed, but actual civil war, is hard to imagine working in the current paradigm.
