Stephanopoulos put the question to the president...So no one told -- your military advisors did not tell you, "No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It's been a stable situation for the last several years. We can do that. We can continue to do that"? The generals would have never told him anything like this. It was not a stable situation. Our troops were getting killed and if we had broken the agreement with the Taliban they would've attacked our troops. They may have told him we can keep 2,500 troops there but the Taliban's attacks would have escalated. 2,500 troops in no way could have kept the situation stable. Trump pulled over 13,000 troops out after he made the deal with the Taliban.
