6. The first time I learned of the existence of drag queens was seeing Rupaul on Jay Leno.

And I was maybe 13 at the time. I didn't even know transgender was a thing until I was taking a psych class when I was 21. And before that I only maybe was aware of the concept because of off color jokes on sitcoms like Home Improvement and the Simpsons and of course, Ace Ventura.

That's definitely not how people should learn about it, either. And probably why there's so much hate on this issue. Fuck these assholes.
