Just because a 3-way relationship happened at some stage as a consensual agreement ... does not mean it stayed that way. In fact it's pretty common for it not to. That's part of why many people ... wouldn't do it.
*IF* an affair happened, and esp. *IF* the family was being extorted? And from an article I saw yesterday, he may've also been extorted by Cohen to support Trump on top of whatever the pool boy was doing?
Then yes ... that sounds pretty friggin' stressful I gotta admit. I do think it's possible that a person could end up 'spiraling' as a result, drinking, cavorting with young people for example. To view it as 'not one's fault' is at least a bit understandable, *IF* the wife really did have an affair. Which we on DU *think* isn't the case, but we don't actually know.
There's also another 'angle' ... regardless of whether the wife had an affair, one also doesn't know whether the decision to present this escapade as an affair by the wife was not a mutual decision on their part. Apparently there are some pics of her and the pool boy, so there was kinda no 'getting around' some kind of relationship, do I have that right? Perhaps she is more comfortable with the world thinking she had an affair than she is with the world thinking she was involved in a 3-way kinky, husband-watching sex fest? Given who these people are, it's definitely not unthinkable.
I'm just saying it's hard to tell what really happened or why we're being told what we're being told. It might look like she's being 'thrown under the bus' ... but what they're putting out there might an explanation they're both entirely in on.
In any case, it's a nice, sordid tale, and great fun watching them squirm
