congressional races rather than the romney rat hole? I'm not sure it's happening yet but it very well could.

The "Night of Long Knives" will come if republicans lose the presidency again and especially if they lose the House and Senate, too.

I am not as sure as you that the tea party will win that war. It seems equally possible that the corporate wing of the party will kick the teabaggers to the curb from whence they came and reestablish their control of the party. In that scenario the tea party can go on with its "xenophobia, hatred of migrants, fear, hate, and envy, scapegoating of ethnic groups, anti-liberalism, anti-unionism" (most of which is shared, if in a more subdued manner, by the corporate wing). Perhaps the baggers can reconstitute the Know Nothing Party or the John Birch Society and go on their merry way to oblivion (shouting all the way).
