8. I once had the honor of spending some time with Doc and a few friends

on his bus, as he prepared for a show. It was an amazing experience, to watch him warm up in a sort of private setting. This was in the late 80's, shortly after his son, Merle had passed away. It seemed that there was a sadness coming through his music, then. He was a real master of the guitar, and will be greatly missed. So long, Doc.
