(24,411 posts)...how the votes are tabulated. However, I was a precinct captain for Obama during
the last Iowa Democratic caucus. I stayed late and helped the precinct chair count
the votes and call them in.
I do remember this: Each caucus calls in their votes to a central location. The vote tallies
of each caucus are made public. In fact, on the news--individual caucus site votes are shown
on the news. When the post-caucus reporting is in full flurry--there is a lot of cross talk about
voting results at various caucus sites.
I also believe that all individual caucus results are posted publicly.
That was the way the Democrats did it, anyway.
Of course, there is always opportunity for fraud. If you had fraudsters reporting the final results--I could see where, all of a sudden--Romney has several hundred more votes than another candidate. I guess the final-tally person could cheat. However, the individual numbers (each caucus site) would not add up.
I wouldn't be surprised. The corporate overlords really want Romney. They have no shame when it comes to cheating and lying.
