It's like the people running the Clinton campaign can't handle having to actually run in the primary. It appears they envisioned a "run silent, run deep" MO for this year and basically dodge the press on any embarrassing issues. They were prepping everything so as to have big staged moments while running against their Republican opponent.
It's a good thing to see this lack of flexibility being demonstrated. If Secretary Clinton is nominated she'll need much better than this from her campaign. This is partly why Vice President Biden is being persuaded to run. It serves notice to Secretary Clinton to put her ship in order, otherwise there's Plan Biden.
