Maybe they're in a small town where Wal-Mart drove out all the competition and there's no place else within a reasonable distance to get the stuff they need - plus, Wal-Mart pays such shitty wages that the people who have to work there because there aren't any other jobs can only afford to shop there, even if there were better stores nearby. I wouldn't shop at Wal-Mart on a bet, but I live in a large metropolitan area and have the option of going to Costco.
