(2,770 posts)The working class have been fully cognizant of the disparity between themselves and the wealthy all of their working lives.
And every time I see someone like yourself, or others on this board, bragging about how the working class were not aware of their situation until Occupy came along and educated them, all I see is a bunch of elitists taking credit for stating the incredibly, blatantly, in-your-face obvious to people who have been more than familiar with their own situation long before OWS ever came along.
"To say that the Workers were insulting themselves??" No, workers aren't insulting themselves - the people who are holding themselves out as having 'started the conversation', as though that conversation hasn't been had a million times in a million households, are insulting them.
Yes, many hard-working Americans are members of Occupy (though not nearly as many as you keep insisting there are). When was the last time one of them said to you, or anyone else, "Thanks for letting me know about the disparity between me and the 1%. I never knew about it until you condescendingly told me it existed."
