...I do recall seeing Tamron Hall show a little leg now and then and Mika's gams get in the pictures in the bumpers before they go to commercial break. Yawn. But then I've always found it interesting how titilation is used...and, yes it is.

Sex sells...even on cable news...and especially on local news. This is the Joel Cheatwood "if it bleeds it leads" philosophy. He "reinvented" local TV news in the 80s with Don Henley's "bubble-headed bleach blondes" and has been consulting for faux for years. In a highly competitive business where every ratings point matters the networks know that a pretty face keeps dials locked in no matter how vapid they sound.

Short of the rare times where a real emergency is taking place, "news" on the teevee is more infotainment and opionion...especially on the cables. The prime business of these corporates are not to inform but to entertain...and eye candy has and does pull in viewers. Blame human nature...
