(31,731 posts)11. Exactly. Gaslighting is intended to make you feel crazy, like you are losing your mind.
Whether they (Trump and Conway) understand the psychological principles involved--and are doing it
deliberately--is hard to know. I suspect not. I don't think either one of them is that smart. I think
that lie and deny is more their game--it's worked over the years for Trump--and it certainly worked
as a campaign strategy. So they will keep doing it. On the other hand, I may not be giving them enough
credit and they may know exactly what they are doing and why because they want to keep us all off balance
and questioning our own judgment.
Neither one of them can be trusted.
