It's an older Harmony universal remote, which is fine for on/off/volume, but worthless for changing programs on Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. But both offer apps which control everything else through the iPhone. Our son has a newer model which is pretty small, and allows navigation even in the Netflix/Hulu/Amazon screens. But it's about $90.
Of course, if you don't use an Apple TV, you don't need Remote. But the Amazon app should be available for iOS and Android.
