(15,445 posts)18. Yes, the Brexit ringleaders are talking about a 2-year time-line for complete withdrawal.
But, top diplomats from the "Original Six" EU founders are meeting as we speak to see how the divorce process can be speeded up.
The growing consensus among other EU members is: make it quick; no sense in dragging out the pain.
Britain is whistling past the graveyard thinking they can get out of this unscathed, with the City's business carrying on as usual.
Here's the money quote:
"If the UK wants back in, it has to apply like any other country."
