People whose identity is tied to political ideology will seek sources of information and communities that reinforce opinion and validate ones stance on political issues. There are of course those who are driven to question everything; even their own mind. They will seek content that challenges deeply held belief and preconceived notions. l have found that people like this tend to be less vocal or their voices are drowned out by the echo chamber. So yes, I believe we are no better.
