In reply to the discussion: Judge Gives Man 60 Years In Prison For Driving With Suspended License [View all]Heeeeers Johnny
(423 posts)111. Did you read what I posted?
My main point didn't focus on the person arrested, rather I pointed out that yes, the
technology and scanners do exist that can discern if there are any legal/illegal issues
regarding the vehicle and or registered owner.
It's not like cops have some high-tech scanner that beeps when it's near a suspended license.
The usefulness of the technology goes way beyond "expired plates".
Depending on the particular software in use by an agency, any 'hit' detected by the scanners
can return any number of variables regarding the vehicle and/or the registered owner, everything
from outstanding warrants, unpaid traffic fines/parking tickets, no insurance, no license/suspended
license, expired safety inspection, etc.

The title is intentionally misleading. He violated supervision and committed multiple felonies.

As soon as I saw the words 'violated probation' I knew there was more to the story.
