the GOP wouldn't risk giving the nomination to someone who won less because of how bad it would look, and how bad for turnout it'd be. Hillary's landslide would not only be bigger, but their downballot would get demolished.

I think if its Trump, a lot of the GOP will actually be relieved; they have a death blow to the Tea Party when Trump loses; just as Dukakis' nomination, as opposed to Gore or someone who'd have fared better in 1988, opened the door for the Clintons to take back the WH in 1992 and begin the present era in which GOP only wins the national popular vote 1 time in the past 6 contests.
