In reply to the discussion: What did you get your mother for Mother's Day? [View all]mrmpa
(4,033 posts)10. Yesterday I took my Mom for a ride to a town about 45 miles away ........
we've been there before but not for about 2 years. We stopped at the Farmer's market. She bought some pork she wanted, some lunchmeat, breads, fruit and vegetables. There were Mennonites making and selling doughnuts. They are AWESOMELY DELICIOUS!! And they are huge. We then bought some ice cream and came home. She said several times yesterday and today that she had an enjoyable day.
Today she saw 4 of her grandchildren, talked to another, saw & spoke to her 3 sons, and one daughter-in-law came over with flowers from her garden.
Mom (82 years old) said she had a most wonderful weekend.
I also gave her a pin for her jacket, it's from the town in Poland where her father was born.

I got her a pretty flowered note pad and flowered pen. And a book of jokes aimed at the middle aged.
