This is a crowdfunding request. I don't want to offend anyone, so I'll say that first, so you can exit quickly if you aren't interested in helping. Also, this is not a sob story. We aren't starving right now and we aren't about to be homeless. We just have an opportunity to make sure that we are NEVER facing homelessness again that will disappear if we don't/can't find a way to act on it right now.
There is a three bedroom mobile home for sale right now in my area. It's old (1977) but it's bigger than our current mobile home, and it's in a MUCH safer neighborhood for the kids, where they'll go to the best local schools and be able to have a dog. They only want $4000 for it, and they are willing to take payments--IF we can come up with half of it ($2000) first. Moving there will cut our bills significantly, and make it a lot easier for my family to survive right now.
We can easily afford the lot rent and payments--Ben and Deb both have good jobs now. But we don't have $2000 in savings, we have terrible credit thanks to past relationships, poor decisions, ill luck, and just poverty in general, and the mobile home won't stay available for the months it would take us to save it up. Time is of the essence here.
Not sure what I could offer in return, other than crash space if any of you are ever in Morgantown, WV. But that's always true for any DU'er.
Link to my GoFundMe campaign below. This would mean so much to me and my family. You have no idea.

There's a picture of the mobile home in question on the campaign page.
Edit: here is the Craigslist ad for it. Lots of pictures. Oh my god, the painting and crafting and kitschy loveliness of it all

EDIT: We now have $2100!!! We just need a little more to cover the fees for withdrawing the money, and we've got it!!!
